Well, if it isn’t 2017, comin’ round the bend and giving us a brand new shiny year.
We have our work cut out for us, and I assure you, we’ll not be sitting idly, playing croquet and lolling about, we’ll be thinking of ways to share art with you. We’re already gearing up for ways to bring the planet hope and justice through creativity. What we do is indeed, for the most part, interpreted as a type of frippery, or as a luxurious pastime, but it’s so much more than that, believe me. I am reminded of Karl Paulnack, who gave a welcoming speech to freshman parents at Boston Conservatory waaaaaay back in 2004, but it still hits home.
“Art is part of survival; art is part of the human spirit, an unquenchable expression of who we are. Art is one of the ways in which we say, “I am alive, and my life has meaning.” Concert Pianist, Karl Paulnack
If you’d like to read the entire thing, I recommend it highly, it’s worthwhile to the max. He handily illustrates clearly why art is of value. This articulation of purpose is very much how I view my life’s mission, and why I started SparkleBlob.
Keep an eye on us, we’ll be fighting the good fight one puffball, one chili dog, one puppet at a time. ~JP
